While last year's Galaxy S5 was nothing special, this year Samsung's started from the ground up to make a truly wonderful smartphone. The camera is superb, the audio and video quality brilliant and the QHD display crammed into the 5.1-inch screen is the sharpest on the market - although it does suck down the battery rather a lot. Samsung Galaxy S6 The design is finally something we're pleased to hold in our hand, rather than the plastic cheapness of last year, and the refined TouchWiz overlay is a lot nicer to use. It's actually extended its lead at the top thanks to some amazing price drops - so you can now get the best phone on the market for an incredibly low price these days. A no-brainer. Full review:

Samsung Galaxy S6 Also consider: The easy decision here is to have a look at the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge with all the same power and an extra exciting curve on both sides. Other great options are the LG G4 and the iPhone 6S, but really, you should just be looking at the more beautiful version of this phone.

Nubia said it is “preparing an aggressive smartphone push into more emerging countries in 2015”, with the launch of a new online store in the pipeline. The ZTE-backed company said it plans to extend its brand mobile web presence and “has its sights set for Latin American countries, Mexico and Argentina, key European markets including UK, France, Germany and Spain as well as Malaysia and Thailand in South East Asia. The news, announced in line with CES 2016, follows investment firm Suning Rundong taking a 33.33 per cent stake in Nubia for $297 million. This, it said, “will provide a wealth of resources for the future development of the company”. Nubia also announced the launch of a new global website, “providing interactive product information and giving customers a real feel of the innovative features Nubia smartphones mobile web have to offer, including its wide range of built-in photography applications”. It also said that in the coming months, besides unveiling its new flagship smartphones, Nubia will launch its official online store. Customers in Europe will “soon” be able to purchase Nubia devices on mobile web directly online, and the e-commerce platform will continue to launch in other markets shortly after.
