New Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 10.1 leaks have pointed to Intel making its first appearance on the Android tablet scene, with the iPad rival tipped to feature an Atom processor. While a number of Intel chipset hosting smartphones have already made their way to market, the renowned processor maker has still yet to join the Android tablet revolution, with leaked Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 10.1 benchmarks suggesting this could be about to change. Following on from the likes of the Motorola Razr i, Intel will reportedly supply a 1.6GHz dual-core Atom Z2560 processor for the rumoured Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 10.1. Having leaked courtesy of serial Samsung tipster SamMobile, the third-generation 10.1-inch Samsung Galaxy Tab will feature the Intel innards in both the Wi-Fi only and Wi-Fi plus 3G options, reportedly known as the Samsung GT-P5200 and GT-P5210 respectively.
As well pointing towards the first move to Intel innards, the leaked benchmarks have claimed the Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 10.1 specs sheet will feature Google’s Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean OS alongside a 1280 x 800p HD display that, as the product’s name suggests, will be 10.1-inches in size. A direct rival the full size 9.7-inch iPad, the Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 10.1 is seemingly set to follow the recently unveiled Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 7.0 to launch although no concrete details on the tablet’s existence have yet to be confirmed by the South Korean manufacturer. While the Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 8.0 leaked earlier in the week, the 10.1-inch model looks set to be the only Samsung tablet to make the move to an Intel CPU, a slightly puzzling decision from the Samsung Galaxy S4 manufacturer. As always, we suggest such rumours are taken with caution.
